"Meet Laurie!"

I finished my scrappy quilt. I named it Laurie after my beloved grandmother that passed away in 2003. I just have to add the label, and I'll be finished. My friend Jacquie, who is quite the amazing quilter sent me a tutorial to help me learn to grid quilt. It wasn't hurt, but pretty time consuming. It was totally worth it though. This quilt makes me smile. It's happy and full of surprises just like my grandma. I hope she's smiling from heaven. The binding has little polka dots all over it. The colors are kind of crazy, but I think they all flow together in perfect harmony. Amandajean at Crazy Mom Quilts helped me learn how to make a scrap quilt quite awhile ago, and I find them so fun. Always a challenge, and always a surprise!

Laurie is beautiful. My grandmother tried to teach me how to quilt, but to be honest I find it too difficult. Fortunately, you are not like me.

Hi Carla,

That quilt is really nice and I love the way the grid quilting makes it look.

I especially like that you named it after your Grandmother. I'm sure she is smiling down at you. :)
